Selection Criteria

For Students
  • to be enrolled in a study program (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral);
  • to have language skills that meet the requirements of the host university;
  • to comply with the selection session schedule and its terms and conditions.

In case a tie-breaking is necessary, the following aspects will be taken into consideration:

  • for study mobility, priority will be given to students in higher years of study, with better academic performance (average grades), with a higher level of proficiency in the language of instruction, and whose Erasmus Learning Agreement can include courses that can be recognized upon return;
  • for traineeship mobility, the “first come, first served” rule applies, as these mobilities mainly take place during the summer vacation. “First come, first served” refers to the acceptance of the host institution for carrying out the mobility (the date the email was sent).
For Academica Staff

The following categories are eligible for mobility:

  • Teaching staff (including associate lecturers) – teaching mobilities (budget for 70 mobilities);
  • Auxiliary teaching staff, researchers, laboratory technicians/doctors employed by the university, and administrative stafftraining mobilities (budget for 14 mobilities).
  • Quality of the training/teaching program: 7 points
  • Added value of the mobility: 2 points

Useful information

Administrative

For university staff mobilities, the Erasmus+ Office does not encourage mobilities carried out in the same location and during the same period by employees who are spouses, nor mobilities taking place in the same location and during the same period by staff members from the same discipline/department/service, except in the case of participation in International Staff Weeks.

A participant may not carry out two mobilities at the same university within the same project, a measure intended to avoid the artificial increase of the number of mobilities.

If a participant holds multiple roles within the university, they will benefit from only one funded mobility. A second mobility may be funded only if the project budget allows it, and without disadvantaging other applicants (e.g., associate teaching staff + administrative staff, PhD student + associate teaching staff, student + employee in administrative structures).

This measure is intended to ensure diversity.

Teaching mobilities may be carried out only at Erasmus partner universities.

If a selected participant is no longer able to carry out the mobility, they must notify the Erasmus+ Office in writing (by email). The places that become available will be offered to candidates on the reserve list, in order of their score and based on the host institution’s acceptance. If necessary, a new application session will be organized to fill the remaining places.

Financial Information

Contract no. 2025-1-RO01-KA131-HED-000325960

The Erasmus grant is a lump sum composed of a contribution to subsistence and travel costs. Travel days must be different from activity days, as they are not included in the number of activity days.

  1. The contribution to travel expenses is a fixed amount for a round-trip journey, the value of which depends on the distance band. The distance is calculated, taking into account the number of kilometers between Cluj-Napoca and the host institution’s location, in accordance with the European Commission’s online distance calculator.

Participants traveling from a location other than Cluj-Napoca must declare their point of departure, which will be taken into account when calculating the travel cost contribution. If participants receive funding for travel from other sources, they will no longer be eligible to receive Erasmus funding for the same trip.

To be eligible for the Green Travel grant, the participant must cover at least 50% of the distance using environmentally friendly means of transport. Only the outbound segment of the journey will be considered when calculating the Green Travel grant.
